Thank you for reminders regarding emergencies/drills, especially the note about the card on the door. The "notes" sections was a good set of reminders as well.

That was what I thought as well, only if we are missing someone. This process is ever-changing, as it should, but the faculty needs to be well-versed/trained in case of these events.

I have corrected my notes about the e-mail during the lock-down. I thought we sent e-mails for missing or extra students.

I was confused about the email too. I didn't realize we had to turn out the lights during a fire drill either. Thank you for the reminders! Congrats to Brittany!

What about students wanting to go to the media center to work on PowerPoint and Word projects for other classes?

Keep them in class unless there is a signed note by an administrator. There are too many students in the halls and other classrooms instead of where they are supposed to be right now. The majority are not working on projects but are telling teachers they are....

Thanks for the quick notes on the lockdown/fire procedures. I think I will put a copy it in my emergency envelope with the cards. Also, by my calculations, we are averaging about 52 faculty absences a month. At the rate, we will not reach our goal. :(

Glad to see discipline going down. I have noticed more piercings too. I misunderstood at the faculty meeting about the lock down. I thought we emailed only if we were missing students. Thanks for the straight forward information.

I had planning period during this lockdown drill. Am I to assume that we are also supposed to e-mail even when we are sitting in the dark by ourselves, pondering our own mortality since we don't have students to shush?

I have addressed some facial piercings myself. Work places usually have strict rules regarding piercings. Students need to know that life has rules and they are not imposed upon them to try to make them miserable. Congrats to Brittany!!

Students do not seem to understand about the dangers of the piercings. They don't realize what might happen to them if it gets caught in a machine what can happen to them!

Congrats, Brittany! It's just got to snow! I feel as if I have single-handedly sent our sick numbers out of the roof this year! I've always depended on my meanness to keep me well, but this year has been especially hard on me sickness - wise. I know that is true of others as well.
