SRI testing begins this week! The test for all students will be administered by the ELA department. The schedule for testing is below. If you know or have students that are only here for part of the day, please remind them to schedule a time to take the SRI this week. Student scores by grade level will be sent to everyone at the conclusion of the testing period and makeups. You will also receive a spreadsheet to document student scores for your Intervention period, which will be explained during this week's Faculty meeting. (The schedule is also posted on the Dates to Know page for future reference.) Benchmarks are upon us! Testing begins next week for the ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies midterm assessments. NOW is the time to focus on the pre-assessment data recorded on your posters and have targeted conversations regarding student weaknesses. Need help navigating PowerSchool? Come see me! Dr. W. Owens is on the ball with SRI data as well! Looks like she and her students are anxiously awaiting the 2nd SRI assessment:)
In my search to find a replacement for our outdated clickers, I came across this amazing list. You may recognize a few of the assessment tools like Kahoot, Quizlet, Padlet, and Nearpod, but you MUST take a closer look! Be sure to check out Formative, PeerGrade, and GoSoapBox.
Anyone that tries one on the list and invites me in to see will get a prize:) Don't forget to post your experiences so everyone can benefit! Can't wait to see what you find! Reposting this year's testing calendar so that you don't have to search for it! It is getting closer every day for our students to show what they know! :)
There have been a couple of hiccups with the Pre-Cumulative Benchmark, but we will work together to get the them completed as soon as possible. The remainder of the year will test as noted above. You will also receive this information in an email attachment.
Please continue to schedule your labs/carts through Mr. Moat. If you teach a college course in a lab, there may be the need to use that lab during these times. Please confirm the availability with Mr. Moat. Stressed because there is so much content and so little time? There are some simple and creative ways being used to review and all you have to do is look next door! If you have a good idea you would like to share, please let me know!! Although there are many short tutorial videos found in the Help section, I wanted to repost a video Shelby White made for her department demonstrating different ways to find assessment data. Excellent resource and applicable to all teachers using PowerSchool assessments! Thank you, Mrs. White! |
