I am encouraged by the Lexile scores. I am still a little discouraged by the increase in discipline referrals, fortunately we have a member of The National Wrestling Hall of Fame to handle most of them.

I am excited about the final video as well. After videoing each of you with your chosen student, I feel honored to work with such a wonderful group of people. Your love and pride for your students was so evident and I know they will forever cherish your kind words.

When I have spoken to parents, there were at least three who did not realize how many days their child had missed. The solution to attendance will need to include the parents' responsibility.

Can't wait for the video!! It was fun to do! Glad faculty attendance is better. Hopefully, student attendance will get better with all that Ms. Morrow is doing. Mrs. Brooker and I are also doing attendance incentives within our classrooms. My first period has almost spelled out "BROWNIES"!

Yes, attendance is bad, but Wendy and I do an attendance competition like she said and they love it! Which ever class spells out attendance first wins a day that they can bring food in and we do something fun for that period. They are pretty competitive with it!

Friendly competition, especially when encouraged by a teacher, is a great way to motivate students. Love this idea. (And like I replied to Wendy's comment--I want a brownie!)
