Rachelle Terry, Murray County's Technology Support Specialist, will be here on OCTOBER 21 to deliver professional learning on SLDS. You need to know what resources SLDS has to offer so you can get the most out of it and get your required 50 "clicks" a month. Hopefully you will learn some things and also take care of some "clicks". Please mark your calendars and plan to attend during your planning. It will be held in the Career Lab on the CTAE Hallway. It is mandatory for everyone to attend. I am not sure how long it will last.
On the previous post, I asked that you handout the Teacher-Parent Compact & the Parent Involvement Plan on Thursday, Oct. 15. I got the date wrong and thanks to Dr. "Mrs." Greeson :) realized that is the Homecoming Assembly. Soooo...please handout the papers on Tues., Oct. 14. The students will be in advisement to vote for Homecoming.
Good Morning!
Advisement teachers - today or tomorrow, you will receive copies of the School-Parent Compact & the Parent Involvement Plan in your mailboxes. Please hand these out next Thursday, Oct. 15 during advisement. It was planned for you to handout them out this Thursday, but I just realized it is Clubs and you will not be seeing your advisement students. There is a place for parent & teacher signatures on the compact. Please place the signed compacts in my mailbox or bring them to my office. Do the same if you have any parent fill out the information card(s) on the back of the Parent Involvement Plan. Good Monday Morning! I'm sure that's something you think as you teach your lessons ;) A few things:
I would like to take pictures of how MCHS teachers are displaying the Thinking Map posters including the Key Words associated with each picture. If you have a great display, please comment! I want to send some pictures to our trainer. The Thinking Map folks love to receive pictures of displays & student completed maps to place on the website &/or use in trainings. Let's show them how great MCHS students and teachers are - all you have to do is comment: stop by my room! I hope to take some pics today! The GA Milestones will be given in every course that previously had an EOCT. Even though there is not a change in the courses taking the state assessment, there is a SIGNIFICANT change in the rigor/layout of the questions. To prepare students for this challenge, we have to make sure that summative assessments in ALL courses include questions/rigor like students will encounter on the Milestones. We have a plan - the Department Heads will share with you very soon! Features the Georgia Milestone Assessment System include: (Notice the types of questions)
The links below will allow you to download the approximate % of test by domains. I also included the middle school domains so you will have an idea of how their curriculum is prioritized. You need to have a copy of this in the DATA section of your teacher portfolio.
If you are having difficulty with the new grade book, attend the Q & A session in Mrs. O'Dell's room today @ 3:20!
Also, if you haven't scrolled down - please do so & notice the information about the TKES awareness walks |
