Here is the link for instructions on how to administer your TKES student surveys. Make sure you refer back to the post on 11/17 for dates, times, & rules. Use the browser, Mozilla Firefox. Email and let me know when you have completed your surveys! If I don't receive an email, I'm going to assume you didn't complete them. The window to administer opens next week. ALL teachers must finish survey administration by 12/12.

The student surveys focus on the following TKES standards:
Just want to make sure there isn't any confusion about how Standard 6 - Assessment Uses is rated during awareness walks &/or formative observations.
Mrs. Linder conducted a drawing for teachers who have had perfect attendance (so far) this year. CONGRATULATIONS to Scott Martin, Regina Thomas, & Josh Hensley!! I will deliver a Saucy Bones BBQ ticket to you. It will include a FEAST for 4. Thank you to all who have had perfect attendance! It's an impressive accomplishment!! A positive change for the TKES Student Surveys!! Teachers get to administer their own surveys!! Which also means that you get to choose the class you would like to take the survey (the class you choose has to have 15 or more students) You will administer 1 survey per semester. This way - the semester courses will be able to survey a class they have had all semester instead of just a few days. Things you need to know to administer the survey:
Professional Learning Days are scheduled @ 3:20 on the following days: Everyone must attend
On a previous post (11/6), I mentioned that I would be creating a professional learning resource book. With the help of the POWER team & Coach McClary, they are now ready to be delivered. You may recognize some of the things in the book, but much of the strategies/websites/ideas are new.
I have listed the TKES standards that could be related to the topics. If you wonder what to do to receive a level III/IV on awareness walks or formative observations, consistently implementing any of these strategies can help. Below is an overview of a few things that stood out to me - PLEASE SHARE HOW/WHAT YOU PLAN TO USE!!!
GOOD MORNING! Congrats! We have now rolled out all of the 8 Thinking Maps. As you know, the summarizing component of the lesson is so important because it reinforces the major concepts of a lesson. With that in mind, I would like for you to summarize the 8 Thinking Maps next Tuesday, 11/18 during 2nd period. Below is a link to a summarizing sheet that I would like for you to use next Tuesday. The answers are on pg. 2 of the Word document.
BM1 REMINDER: Please make sure that you give your inclusion teachers a copy of your BM1 scores. They have to have a copy for their documentation.
New Lesson Plan Template: If you have any questions about the new template, please stop by my office or send me an email. I will be glad to clarify or answer any questions. Everyone must use the new template for next week's lesson plans. Make sure that you differentiate every 1 or 2 weeks. Document that differentiation on the required template. If you have questions about how to fill out that template, please let me know. Needs-Based documentation - Anytime that you help a student(s) during class, a couple of minutes before the bell rings, during lunch, after school - fill out the needs-based template. Inclusion teachers can provide input or complete differentiation & needs-based plans. With the help of the POWER team, I am creating a Teacher Reference Guide for you. It's professional learning in hard copy form :) In the next week or so, you will find it in your mailbox. Below is the cover sheet & Table of Contents - I will post more info. when they are delivered. Thanks Coach McClary for sharing your packet with me! Good Morning!
By now, everyone should have given the BM1. Many of you have already sent roster changes for Achievement Series. If you haven't done so, please email me the changes that need to be made ASAP. I have to have the SECTION #, not the period - they are 2 different numbers. You are responsible for printing a list of your students' benchmark scores. These are to be placed in the DATA section of your teacher portfolio. Those scores will serve as one form of documentation for the TKES - "Assessment Uses". Academic Department Heads - To avoid additional meetings, I will give the data analysis break down of BM1 scores to each teacher during the scheduled professional learning days in November. |
