The last "Try Something New" topic focused on Critical Words to include in all aspects of instruction. These words will be included on GA Milestones, ACT, & SAT assessments. If you would like a classroom poster to reference during instruction or classroom discussion, let me know.

Some things you need to know for Thinking Maps Training on 2/26 & 2/27: On March 3, every teacher will conduct a peer observation as part of a system wide initiative. I will meet with the assigned groups in the Professional Learning Room (next door to my office) before & after you conduct your observation.
The purpose of the peer observations is to focus on the teaching/learning strategies used during the lesson, NOT the content of the subject. You can observe who you would like, but you cannot observe someone in your department. I will give more details in our meeting on March 3 Some things to know now:
I appreciate all of your feedback related to Twitter! I have found a wealth of educational information on Twitter. I found a list of Critical Words Students Must Know for Common Core & Standardized Tests.
I know that our ELA teachers are teaching many of these words - Make sure you INCLUDE the words that apply to your curriculum in your daily class discussions & instruction! How are the rest of you incorporating DOK leveled vocabulary in your instruction? SHARE....SHARE....SHARE!!! Below is a link to the TKES online survey for teachers. The Division of Teacher & Leader Effectiveness conducts this survey bi-annually to gather additional feedback from districts across the state. The survey contains 16 questions.
