Before Christmas break I started posting "Try Something New" - #1 focused on Differentiation and was posted on 12/5. Topic #2 focused on Incorporating Literacy-PALS & was posted on 12/15.
I am new to Twitter, but I am going to try it out after encouragement from Dr. Terry's blog, Mrs. Plemons, and several speakers at various conferences. I asked her to share some educational #hashtags with me so that I may pass them along to all of you. So...if you are not on Twitter, I encourage you to try it out and learn with me. If you are already on Twitter, share what you know :) If you use any of the hashtags included in the "Guide", please share, share, share!! Request to have Twitter unblocked and use it for educational #s & ideas for lessons! I'm a beginner - follow me on Twitter @AndreaMorrow78

I follow several #edtech gurus on Twitter and have gotten a lot of ideas from their posts. It's a great way to get up-to-date education news and info.

I also really like that I can add things to my iOS reading list from the Twitter feed. Sometimes I don't have time to read an article in its entirety and adding it to the reading list saves it so I can go back when I have more time.

Andrea...I'm not sure, but if you download the Buffer App, I think it has that feature available. There is also a Google Chrome Extension for Buffer.

Scratch that. Check your Twitter settings. There should be a "read later" section and you can choose where to send the articles.

Randy, it's Facebook, but with followers instead of friends. You have to limit your posts to 140 characters, though, so you wouldn't have the room to expound and wax philosophical.

I follow @webenglishteacher already. They re-tweet a lot of resources I find useful. Using hashtags is ABSOLUTELY necessary with Twitter; otherwise you will quickly find you have followed fifty different education accounts and will be as overwhelmed by Twitter as we often feel overwhelmed by everything else.

Will...I couldn't agree more - why would we have to request to have a "technology" endorsed site unblocked ?!? I will check and see if it can be unblocked, at least for MCHS teachers.

I wouldn't really say any sites were "endorsed" by our technology department in my blog post. The subject at hand was an explanation of using hashtags. However, having Twitter available as a resource is something to consider now that the subject has been brought up in these comments. I will let you know how this shakes down! :)

I need some help with Twitter. I am only following 11 people/groups and it won't allow me to follow more. It says I am at my limit, but when I researched the limit of people to follow, it says it is 2000.... Help!
