teachers I work with have a lot of good 'increase literacy' lessons going on
I agree, Kim. I have seen multiple examples of text annotation across the curriculum!
I was surprised to see the number of discipline referrals so high already! I am excited about our Homecoming week and game! Proud to wear green! Go Indians!
I am looking forward to being on the Faculty Float!
I'm a little surprised by the increase in discipline referrals, but happy to see so few certified absences. The SRI results look encouraging also.
It's good to see that the SRI results have increased!
We kicked but on Teacher Absences for the month of September!!
Can't wait to see everyone at the game Friday Night.
Is the discipline referrals coming from mostly one grade level?
The majority have been from 9th and 10th graders, which is typical for the beginning of the year. It is important that everyone follow step discipline and contact parents. We hope to get these students going in the right direction.
Good news in many areas! I look forward to homecoming activities and enjoy seeing everyone's attire :)
It is awesome to see the teacher absences going down! I wonder why the student discipline referrals have been so high...
My students are enjoying the homecoming activities for the week. Go Indians! On a side note, I am shocked at the high absences that I have had already. Some students have missed 5+ times already.
good to know
SkillsUSA float better than ever this year.
It is! Mr. Steele showed it to me yesterday. Glad you have the opportunity to showcase the great work your students are doing!
I was glad to see the certified absences down this year for September. However, I have also had several students who have already missed 5+ days.
I'm glad to see the SRI scores increasing.
Teacher attendance is much improved; student attendance and discipline is not looking good, but literacy is up for all grades except 12th which is great!!!
Faculty attendance is improving. Wish I could say the same for student attendance.
Good to see teacher attendance is much improved. I am surprised by the increase in discipline referrals.
I am surprised to see the number of discipline referrals this early in the year! I am pleased to see the SRI scores improve!!
I hope that the great improvement in teacher attendance means that everyone is healthier and taking care of themselves this year!
The Monthly Student Attendance slide is confusing. The graduated scale on the Y axis changes by 5 thousandths per mark while the measured data bar is measured at .02% and the goal is less than or equal to 50% annualy. So in September 2 hundredths of one percent of our student body missed 5+ days?
Yay!! Glad to see our reading comprehension improving! Student attendance... I have never seen so many students miss 7th period!
Glad attendance has improved
Happy October everyone! Hope everyone stays well and their families.
I'm glad faculty attendance is better so far this year. I have had a few students that have been absent several days though.
SRI scores have started off stronger than last year. Great to hear this information.
I would really like to know the breakdown of the discipline referrals by grade. Not a great way to start off a year.
Discipline referrals are concerning, but SRI scores are off to a better start! :-)
I was very surprised at the number of students who have already had disciplinary issues.
The improvement on the SRI scores is a promising sign, but like many of the other teachers, the high number of discipline referrals and student absences (I mainly have the same students missing multiple days) is worrisome.
Student attendance missing more than 5 days is high already! Discipline referrals are higher but that could mean we are getting on track with step discipline and taking care of problems early!
Thank you to everyone who has helped with homecoming. Make sure you decorate those doors and participate in the parade. Our students love it!
Only 13 teachers absences. Is that Right? WOW!!
I'm glad to see teacher attendance is improving this year. I wish we could figure out ways to get students here. It doesn't seem like calling home or failing grade works for some of our students.
Student absences are the highest they have ever been in my classes this early in the year. I have made several calls home already, but parents do not seem concerned. Do students lose their parking permit when they reach a certain number of absences?
I've never heard that, but that would be a great incentive for students to come to school. Pull the parking permit for 30 days or so after so many unexcused in a defined period of time.
We talked 7 - 8 years ago about pulling parking permits for students who are tardy/absentee concerns. After a great deal of discussion, the consensus was that might only deter students from coming even more. It's definitely something we can bring to the table again at a Leadership Team meeting. Attendance is a concern, and we need to be as proactive as possible.
Last year, I know I had one student first period who was tardy constantly. After they started putting them in ISS for the day, she started staying at home.
Looks like teacher absences are down from this time last year but student referrals are up
So glad to see improvements in SRI!
Glad teacher absences are down!
Thinking Maps are a good tool to use to ask the why questions. The "So What?, So Why" component to the maps are vital steps toward developing and organizing structure in writing.
I am surprised by the student referrals, but my bigger concern are those students who have already missed 5+days.
Attendance appears to be on the rise, hopefully this will trend downwards.
Student absences are outrageous!
And it is always the same students, over and over.
Glad to see teacher attendance is better.
We're looking pretty good......until the plague hits this year.
Very impressed with the improvement in faculty attendance for September and the increase in SRI scores! Our kids are reading a lot this year, as our library stays busy.
To increase positivity within our faculty (focus area), we should have morale booster days "just because." A random Monday jean day with a college shirt or GOOSE day would give everyone something to look forward to. Our faculty works so hard!
Glad teacher absences are down
I am surprised at the number of discipline referrals...
