The next step is to continue with the great work you are doing now! We have been so inspired by the conversations in the PLC's, implementation of new strategies in classrooms, and the amount of writing by our students. As you meet together, remember that the time should be spent on analyzing student work and asking the following questions:
Now that everyone has incorporated writing, try the following at one of your upcoming PLC's:
Consistently have students use the rubric to self-assess. Do they know what is expected at each level? Give them the opportunity to become familiar with the rubric and make improvements upon their writing. Specific and constructive feedback is vital! It's OK for a student to score a 1 on a writing task, as long as we give it back to them, communicate that we know they can do better, and then show them how! Thank you for everything you do for our students. There is no doubt that MCHS has the best rockstars around!

We had a great PLC meeting this morning with CTAE! I want to thank that department for everything they do for our students and for being so active and involved in supporting our students with their reading and writing.
