On March 3, every teacher will conduct a peer observation as part of a system wide initiative. I will meet with the assigned groups in the Professional Learning Room (next door to my office) before & after you conduct your observation.
The purpose of the peer observations is to focus on the teaching/learning strategies used during the lesson, NOT the content of the subject. You can observe who you would like, but you cannot observe someone in your department. I will give more details in our meeting on March 3 Some things to know now:

Do we need to go ahead and let the teacher know we will be observing them? Or will we just show up in their room on that day?

Brittney...no you don't have to let them know. It's more of an unexpected visit.

That's what I was thinking! I just wanted to make sure! Thank you!

Can we visit with more then 1 teacher? Maybe 1 from our department and then 1 from another department?

Jennifer...We are focusing on teaching strategies outside of your content area this time. It is possible that an opportunity to observe a same content teacher will occur in the future.

I think this is a good idea. It should provide us with new strategies that might be useful.
