Like we have shared in our meetings and PLC's, productive struggle can be as difficult for the teacher as it is for the student. It is our nature to want to help a struggling student. We want to prompt them, give them suggestions and clues, and sometimes, just rush them along. We have a tremendous amount of content that we are responsible for in a short period of time!
As Mrs. Adams discussed increasing wait time as a strategy to focus on rigor, I thought about the following article and wanted to share it with you. Over the next couple of weeks, try the three pausing methods described in the article and share the results with your peers in your next PLC meeting. I can't wait to hear what happens! Not sure what happened with the article not showing for some of you...please let me know when that happens so I can fix it right away! I could see it on my end.
