I know how stressful it can be wondering if you are going to get observed. Some things you probably think: It never seems to be on your best day, what are they looking for, why do they have to come to my room, how long are they going to stay, I hate this ;) Some GOOD NEWS - you are already doing what you need to do! They are the same things that are looked for during TKES walkthroughs and observations - it's what happens in a Standards-Based Classroom. Without further ado....Below is the checklist the Central Office uses when they visit schools/classrooms. I hope seeing this will help ease some of the anxiety a visit creates. Don't panic! You can't have perfection everyday. If you follow the "recipe" to the best of your ability, you will have a good lesson :) These things will not always happen in one lesson - they will glance at your teacher portfolio. I have had to disrupt and ask for portfolios. For the sake of minimizing disruption, make sure your portfolio is by the door and visible. If you have questions or concerns, let me know and I can help you!
