The next step is to continue with the great work you are doing now! We have been so inspired by the conversations in the PLC's, implementation of new strategies in classrooms, and the amount of writing by our students. As you meet together, remember that the time should be spent on analyzing student work and asking the following questions:
Now that everyone has incorporated writing, try the following at one of your upcoming PLC's:
Consistently have students use the rubric to self-assess. Do they know what is expected at each level? Give them the opportunity to become familiar with the rubric and make improvements upon their writing. Specific and constructive feedback is vital! It's OK for a student to score a 1 on a writing task, as long as we give it back to them, communicate that we know they can do better, and then show them how! Thank you for everything you do for our students. There is no doubt that MCHS has the best rockstars around! There has been a little bit of confusion regarding lab availability. Please bear with us while we perfect a process for scheduling computer labs and carts.
Below are the classes that are regularly scheduled to meet daily. If you need a lab during one of these times, contact the teacher to make arrangements. If you would like to reserve the lab during an open period, follow the directions Mr. Moat has sent you regarding the calendar. There have been a couple of hiccups with the Pre-Cumulative Benchmark, but we will work together to get the them completed as soon as possible. The remainder of the year will test as noted above. You will also receive this information in an email attachment.
Please continue to schedule your labs/carts through Mr. Moat. If you teach a college course in a lab, there may be the need to use that lab during these times. Please confirm the availability with Mr. Moat.
